Our Ladies
We look for genetically sound females with excellent lines that work well in the field. All of our ladies are OFA'd before breeding. Our ladies love to hunt and are also well adjusted in the house. Most retire here, but we do occasionally let one retire in a great home where they become the center of the world so to speak and do more of what they love such as hunting or just hanging out on with the family.
We are working towards the goal of having all of our dogs titled in various venues. Right now, our focus is field work and Rally. The value of titles is that it is an unbiased opinion of the trainability of the dog to the AKC standard. Temperment, trainability, and willingness to please are genetic in nature. We see many behaviors that are passed down from parents, grandparents, and beyond that we see from owning and/or knowing multiple generation including other relatives. The puppies generally do not have interaction with most of the relatives to mold those behaviors from one generation to the next. The trainability and willing to please helps owners have an easier to train and therefore a better behaved dog, be it hunting, performance/companion events, or simply a companion. Even untitled dogs can produce well for different purposes, sometimes life circumstances make it difficult to go to events or an injury takes "work" off the table, and that's ok, too, we have had those things to happen as well. These titles also show you that our dogs have a lot of human interaction, not just sitting in a pen waiting to have puppies.
